About Us Wycombe High School is a highly successful and very popular girls grammar school located in the south of Buckinghamshire. The school is housed on a large, attractive site overlooking the town of High Wycombe and the Chiltern countryside beyond. The School achieved academy status on 1 May 2011. We have six forms of entry and take girls from a wide area, from over fifty primary schools, both state and private. We have approximately 1300 girls at the school, nearly 400 of these being in our Sixth Form. There are over 130 members of staff providing the girls with the teaching, help and support they require. Each year, we welcome around 20-30 students who join Wycombe High Schools Sixth Form from other schools.

Each class in every subject has a 'virtual classroom' in which teachers provide resources links and activities to support and enhance learning. Unlike this website, most areas of the VLE are only accessible by teachers and members of particular classes, but we have left some areas open for you to explore freely, to see how it is used.

Every school day, your daughter will be welcomed into a friendly place of learning where she will grow in knowledge and confidence, encouraged in her efforts and praised for her achievements. As she moves through the school, we aim to foster a love of learning and to provide her with both the motivation and the skills for independent and lifelong learning. Learning takes place as much outside as inside the classroom. Subjects extend into the community through fieldwork and visits at home and abroad, theatre and film, expert-led workshops, outdoor education and competitions. We provide a wide range of enrichment opportunities to nurture intellectual, social and physical development, irrespective of a girl’s ability or level of skill.

Girls are encouraged to take part in music, dance, drama, debate, sport, community events and, as they grow older, to take on roles in which they lead younger students in such activities. We expect girls to take advantage of this wider curriculum, its opportunities for adventurous learning and active citizenship. We have six forms of entry and take girls from a wide area, from over fifty primary schools, both state and private.

There are approximately 1320 girls at the school - 400 of these are in the Sixth Form. There are over 140 members of staff providing the girls with the help and support they require. Each year, we welcome around 20-30 students who join Wycombe High School's Sixth Form from other schools.
